The JET 708315LSB JBTS-10LS-2 table saw (by the way is that one heck of a product name/number combo or what?) is designed as a bench top table saw, meaning it’s meant to be portable. This is also priced as an entry level saw, and anybody buying this saw should be aware of this. It can stack up fairly well to the Bosch 4100 or the DeWalt DW744X we have looked at, for example, but this saw is cheaper than those two options.

Overall, this is a pretty good saw for the money. In fact if you start comparing this saw to other saws in it’s price range, it’s going to look pretty good. The common complaints with this saw are mostly related to the fence or the miter, but we’ll get to that in a bit. Those common complaints shouldn’t necessarily deter you from taking a serious look at this portable table saw.

The DeWalt DW744X table saw is another great table saw for home or job site use from DeWalt. This table saw contains all the typical quality that you would expect in a DeWalt saw, and has some slick features that make it easy to use.

What makes this different from the last saw we took a look at, the DeWalt DW745 table saw? The most obvious difference is the larger size of the unit in general and the larger size of the cutting table and rip fence. With this saw you can rip boards up to 24.5 inches. That’s a pretty nice size number for those that like to be able to cut large sheets of plywood, for example.

This is a larger saw though, even though it’s sometimes pitched as a portable saw, and you should consider that this is typically going to take two people to lift and port the saw due to the larger table size. However, one big strong dude can probably handle this alone.

It’s 57 pounds, so keep that in consideration if you need ultra-portability. You may be in a situation where you work alone (and have to port your tools yourself), and in that case you may want to opt for lighter saw. If you need something smaller and more portable than this saw we suggest looking at the DeWalt DW745 table saw.

This set also also includes shims and a storage case. If you want smooth, flat and clean dadoes then you should take a look at this affordable set.
	Freud SD508 Super Dado This is a great stack dado set for those requiring a super clean cut and a slightly larger width than some dado sets offer. This dado set width range is 1/4″ to 29/32″. What do you get? 2 outer blades, 6 chippers, shims, a case and also a dvd. The micrograin carbide tips will stay sharp and last for quite a long time, another nice advantage of a quality dado set.
	Forrest DK08244 Dado King This is arguably the highest quality stack dado set on this list, and it is definitely the most expensive. This set by Forrest is well regarded for it’s super smooth cuts and excellent accuracy. It can cut plywood with almost no tear out. Most buyers will tell you that there is pretty much no splintering on any of the cuts. It’s almost unbelievable if you are used to lower end dado sets.
	Delta 35-7670 Stacked Dado Set This dado set provides quality throughout. The blades are extremely sharp and the cuts this set produce are smooth. One thing that makes this set stand out from some others on this list is the heavy duty case. It’s a solid case. What’s in this set? Two blades, six 4-tooth carbide tipped chippers, 12 steel shims, and the heavy-duty storage case. This may actually be the sleeper on this list and it is very highly rated at Amazon.

Overall, we figure you can’t go wrong with any of these sets. They are all top rated and known for their reputation as good stack dado sets.

The DeWalt DW745 Compact Table Saw is amazingly compact and packs a lot of punch out of the box. This saw only weighs 45 pounds and can be easily ported around the job site or at home. I don’t know about you, but I like to be able to move tools around without much effort. This is a very rock solid saw, it feels like one big solid part. That is a good thing.

How big of a cut can you make with this saw? The fence on this table saw allows for a 16 inch rip capacity, plenty of room to rip full sheets of wood or other materials. It’s easily adjustable as well, making it flexible when it needs to be.

This is the perfect way to extend a Bosch 4100 table saw or the Bosch 4100-09 table saw, this could quite possibly one of the most useful accessories available.

The Bosch TS1003 Support Extension is a great way to extend the platform of the table saw to better accommodate larger boards and other wider or longer materials.

This side support extension adds 12 inches to the width of the cutting table for a total of 52 inches, and is made of aluminum. It has a very solid feel. It installs quickly and also can retract when not in use to keep out of the way.

This is the easiest way to extend the cutting table of the Bosch 4100 table saw, so don’t bother with trying to use saw horses or other awkward supports. Get the Bosch TS1003 Table Saw Left Side Support Extension, it’s a pretty affordable upgrade and very useful.

The Freud 8-inch Super Dado (SD508) is a very nice stack dado set for the price. It tends to be a favorite stack dado set of woodworkers who want a quality, flexible dado set at a price that is still easy to swallow.

This is the type of dado set that you will be proud to own and use. It has a knack for creating chip-free dadoes, and it can be used to cut into many different types of materials.

What types of materials can you cut with this dado set? Here’s the short list:

• Hardwood
• Softwood
• Chip board
• Plywood
• Laminate

Keep in mind though that it’s not recommended to use this dado set to cut non-ferrous materials. But that is pretty much the case for any dado set.

The Freud Super Dado allows you to adjust it in 1/32 inch increments, and it also comes with a set of shims. As you can imagine, this is a pretty flexible arrangement, and you’ll be able to fine tune the width of the cut to your exact needs.

In fact, check out the arrangement of chippers in this set:

• One 3/32 inch chipper
• Four 1/8 inch chippers

The chippers also have four wings by design and are also designed with anti-kickback measures.

If you have a Bosch 4100 or  Bosch 4100-09 table saw, and you would like to use a dado set, you will need to get this dado insert – the Bosch TS1007 Dado Insert.

It’s cheap, it fits and it works.

Making a 3/4″ Dado Blade Fit

You may have heard that it’s not possible to use to a 3/4″ dado blade with this insert, but that is not true.

Some purchasers of the TS1007 dado insert install it on the table saw and then find that a 3/4″ or 13/16″ dado blade makes contact with the inside opening of the insert! Don’t worry though. Why?

Even though the instructions that come with this insert don’t explain how to fit a dado set that is wider, such as 3/4″, it can be done. And it’s actually pretty easy. It’s funny they didn’t mention this in the instructions, actually.

All you need to do is make adjustments to how the washers are used on the arbor shaft:

1. Remove both of the washers, and then use the outer washer on the inner part of the arbor shaft.
2. Then add the lock nut.

You won’t need to use an outer washer for a dado stack. Or at least most of the time for wider dado stacks there will be no room for the extra washer, and it doesn’t matter if it’s used or not.

Good Quality

The original product description at Amazon says that this insert is made out of plastic, but it’s actually been switched to metal. This makes it a higher quality version of the original plastic model.

If you order this and get a plastic version, we’d like to know, but it seems like everybody is now getting a metal version. This is good!
